Ed Sheeran’s Music Stolen

A computer hacker has been jailed for stealing an unreleased Ed Sheeran song and putting it online in exchange for Bitcoin.

Adrian Kwiatkowski, 23, broke into the cloud-based accounts of dozens of musicians.

He obtained caches of unaired songs, including two Sheeran’s tracks and 12 songs by US rapper Lil Uzi Vert .

This hacker known as Spirdark took advantage of the DarkWeb to sell music for cryptocurrency and made a profit of £131,000.

The culprit was identified as Ipswich resident Kwiatkowski and charged with cybercrime catalogues.

On Friday, Kwiatkowski was sentenced to 18 months in prison in Ipswich Criminal Court.

At the time of his arrest, Kwiatkowski's Apple Mac laptop had 565 audio files. Also, investigators found 1,263 unreleased songs by 89 artists on multiple devices.
