Xbox CEO Does Not Like Metaverse

Microsoft’s CEO of gaming, Phil Spencer, is the latest tech personality to criticize metaverse.

When asked his definition of the metaverse, Spencer described it as “a poorly built video game” at the WSJ Tech Live conference.

Xbox CEO said that he would not want to spend time in a metaverse that looks like a meeting room.

Apple’s SVP of worldwide marketing Greg Joswiak had also said that the metaverse is “a word I’ll never use”

Meta’s metaverses division reported $3.6 billion in loss for Q3 2022.

Despite the huge losses, Mark Zuckerberg is committing to his vision of metaverse and is spending more on its virtual reality division.
