Twitter faces outage as Musk prepares to layoff half the staff

November 4, 2022

As Elon Musk prepares to layoff half of Twitter staff, the social media platform has stopped working for some users across countries.

Several users reported earlier that they were unable to login to their accounts for several hours.

Twitter employees received an email informing that layoffs will begin Friday, according to a memo seen by The Verge.

Employees who will be retained will get an email on their work email id and employees who will be let go will receive email on their personal email IDs.

Employees were also informed that its offices will be temporarily closed and all badge access will be suspended, which possibly could explain the ongoing shortage.

Twitter currently has 7,500 employees.

Elon Musk is currently planning to overhaul the social media company.
