The House Financial Services Committee hearings on the collapse of crypto exchange FTX will proceed as scheduled on Tuesday although SBF has been arrested.
SBF, former CEO of FTX was arrested by Bahamian police late Monday.
According to the NYT's sources, SBF faces a list of charges including wire fraud, wire fraud conspiracy, securities fraud, securities fraud conspiracy, and money laundering.
Maxine Waters, Chairwoman of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee said that she was "surprised" to hear of SBF arrest.
Also, she added that she is disappointed that he would therefore not attend the hearing.
Waters also said that the American public deserves to hear directly from SBF about the actions that’ve harmed over one million people.
After the FTX debacle, SBF has given numerous media interviews despite being under criminal investigation.
