Facebook users in the US during the past 16 years could be eligible for compensation as part of a $725 million settlement.
The lawsuit alleged that Facebook shared users’ data without their consent.going to Reality Labs.
The settlement covers those who used the platform from May 24, 2007, to December 22, 2022.
Each of the eight named plaintiffs could receive up to $15,000 from the settlement.
A maximum of 25% of the settlement fund could go towards legal fees.
Claims can be filed on the settlement website or by mail, with a deadline of August 25.
Facebook has faced other class-action data privacy cases, including a 2021 settlement in which it agreed to pay $650 million to resolve a suit over biometric data usage.
