Binance Changpeng Zhao Reveals New Funding Interest As MVB Season 9 Kicks Off

Changpeng Zhao:- Binance CZ’s venture capital arm, formerly Binance Labs and now rebranded as YZi Labs, has been investing in AI + crypto projects at an unprecedented pace. It particularly gained traction after CZ’s return from prison followed by the firm’s rebranding in January 2025.

Its four-week accelerator program, Most Valuable Builder (MVB) Season 9, has also officially kicked off on April 4 with a two-day offline event in Hong Kong.

With CZ as its rare Chief Guest, the MVB Program is designed to support early-stage founders, builders, and developers — with backing from CMC Labs, BNB Chain, and YZi Labs.

Interestingly, following the inauguration of MVB Season 9 and a series of meetings with participating founders at HongKong, Binance Founder Changpeng Zhao “CZ” revealed his new funding interest on Sunday.

In a post on X, he shared that after engaging with the developers in Hong Kong, he is now actively seeking to fund a project centered around a “My X Agent” — an AI bot designed to mimic a user’s persona and behavior on X.

What kind of X AI Agent Bot is Changpeng Zhao (CZ) Looking to Fund

He revealed that no project has been able to “impress” him as of now. But if any project aligns with his vision, he has expressed his keen interest in funding the idea within the next 2 weeks via his venture arm YZiLabs.

Sharing the project details in an article, he said that the “My X Agent” must be able to tweet like the user.

By analysing and monitoring the previous tweets with current happenings and trending topics, it must be able to generate tweets for the users.

And for the insights on the tech behind it, Binance Changpeng Zhao (CZ) said that it can use X APi and advanced AI technologies like DeepSeek or GPT-4o.

Further, the “MY X Agent Bot” must be able to summarise tweets, offer human-like replies, and flag risky content for the users.

Notably, this vision is coming up when CZ recently crossed 10M followers on X and launched a paid communication feature dubbed “Pay to Reach” on X. Recently, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) also inked a deal with Kyrgyzstan’s National Investment Agency with him taking on an advisory role.

Economic Model for Such Project

For the monetization strategy of a project like this, Changpeng Zhao said the bot can offer 5 complimentary tweet suggestions to let users experience the bot capabilities. And then go on to charge 0.015 BNB (($0.10) per suggested tweet. It can also share an offer of “Buy in Bulk” to start the bot training on old tweets.

Notably, this can help in making X more smart and interactive. Elon Musk-owned platform, X, acts as the established platform for most of the crypto and Web3 engagements between users, leaders and investors.

YZi Labs Confirms Investment

Responding to Changpeng Zhao (CZ) interest, YZi Labs confirmed that it will invest in such a team who will share an MVP aligning with this vision within the next 1-2 weeks.

However, the project must be on the BNB Chain and use the BNB token as the primary payment Option.

This further exemplifies the growing interest of YziLabs in funding the projects focused at the strong fundamental intersection of Web3, artificial intelligence (AI), and biotechnology.

It has considerably been expanding its investment focus beyond blockchain technology to include artificial intelligence (AI) and biotechnology. ​

In Jan 2025, YZi Labs invested in Vana, a crypto*AI start-up focused on data ownership. Interestingly, CZ or Changpeng Zhao himself joined as an Advisor at Vana besides funding the project.

Which Project will Changpeng Zhao Choose?

There’s no doubt that AI — especially in the form of intelligent agents — has made remarkable progress.
