It involves Seed Funding Rounding for supporting the founding team with a mere whitepaper; Series A-C rounds for backing growth, tech and scaling ; Strategic/Ecosystem rounds for projects stemming from exchanges ; and Projects raising from a public token launch instead of IPO.
Top Web3 VC Firms include a16z Crypto (Andreessen Horowitz’s crypto arm), Paradigm (backed Compound, Coinbase, Optimism), Polychain Capital (early ETH and Polkadot backer, Pantera Capital (One of the oldest crypto VCs) , Framework Ventures – (Known for hands-on tokenomics). Web3 startups secured approximately $8.5 billion in VC funding, marking a 3.66% year-over-year increase from 2023.
