Cashback rates only tell part of the story. The best crypto cashback card depends on your net reward after spending caps, membership fees, and unlock requirements.
Our top picks:
For most people, cards like Bleap and MetaMask Card that pay 1% to 3% in stablecoins without requiring large token holdings make them a better fit for everyday spending. For other people who can comfortably pay for a membership or hold a significant amount of the issuer’s token, cards like Plutus and Wirex One can deliver much higher cashback.
Whichever category you fall into, don’t compare cards by the headline cashback rate alone.
With that in mind, here are the best crypto cashback cards in 2026, ranked by net rewards and reward structures.
The table below compares each card’s advertised cashback rate alongside the factors that determine how much you can actually earn. It lays out in detail the official spending or cashback caps, the annual spending required to reach those limits, the maximum annual reward you can earn, any membership fees, capital requirements, and the reward asset paid.
| Crypto card | Rating | Type | Cashback rate | Official spend/Cashback cap | Annual spend required (Annual spend = Spend cap × period) | Annual cashback (Annual cashback = Annual spend × Cashback rate) Or (Monthly cashback cap x 12) | Annual subscription/membership | Net reward per year (Annual cashback - Annual subscription cost) | Reward asset | Locked/held capital | Availability | Verified | |

To show what crypto cashback looks like in a real spending scenario, we estimated the annual reward for a user who spends $1,000 per month on each card.
We compare the lowest and highest available tiers to show how rewards change with membership levels, token holdings, or subscription plans. These figures are illustrative only and depend on the card’s current reward rates, caps, and requirements.
| Card/Tier | Cashback rate | Gross reward (year) | Plan cost (year) | Net reward (year) | Capital you must lock, and payout asset |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Plutus Noob | 3% | £1/month × 3% × 12 = £0.36 | £69.99 | - £69.63 | Hold 1 PLU. Reward in PLUS |
| Plutus Hero | 4% | £6,000 x 3% = £180 | £99.99 | £80.01 | Hold 1,000 PLU. Rewards paid in PLUS |
| Plutus Honey Badger | 9% | £1,000/month × 9% × 12 = £1,080 | £199.99 | £880.01 | Hold 40,000 PLU. Reward in PLUS |
| COCA Standard | 3% | $1,000 × 12 × 3% = $360 | $0 | $360 | 300 COCA staked. Paid in COCA |
| COCA Elite | 8% | $1,000 × 12 × 8% = $960 | $0 | $960 | 30,000 COCA staked. Paid in COCA |
| Wirex One Base | 0.5% | $1,000 × 0.5% × 12 = $60 | $0 | $60 | No min bal. Paid in USD |
| Wirex One Bespoke | 8% | $1,000 × 12 × 8% = $960 | $0 | $960 | ≥$50,000 holdings + ≥10% WPAY. Paid in USD |
| Crypto.com Visa Signature Credit Card (Midnight blue) | 1.5% | $1,000 x 12 x 1.5% = $180 | $0 | $180 | No CRO lock. Paid in BTC or CRO |
| Crypto.com Visa Signature Credit Card (Obidian) | 6% | $1,000 × 12 x 6% = $720 | Not published | $720 | $500,000 CRO locked for 12 months. Paid in BTC or CRO |
| Coinbase One (Tier 1) | 2% | $1,000 x 12 x 2% = $240 | $49.99 | $190.01 | No token lock. Coinbase One membership + assets on Coinbase. Paid in BTC |
| Coinbase One (Tier 4) | 4% | $1,000 × 4% x 12 = $480 | $49.99 | $430.01 | AOC: $200,000+. Paid in BTC |
That level of devotion only makes sense if you can comfortably meet the requirement and are willing to accept the price risk of holding WPAY.
On the other hand, the Plutus Noob tier actually loses money in this example. It earns just £0.36 in cashback, which doesn’t come close to covering the £69.99 yearly cost.
Together, these examples show why the highest advertised cashback rate doesn’t always produce the highest real-world return.
Spending caps, subscription fees, staking or holding requirements, and category restrictions can significantly reduce the rewards you actually keep. For most users, the best crypto cashback card isn’t necessarily the one with the highest headline percentage; it’s the one whose reward structure matches how much you spend and the assets you’re willing to hold.
Rewards paid in a native token are a bet on that token. CRO, WPAY, PLUS, NEXO, COCA and GNO can rise or fall in value between the time you earn them and the time you sell them. So a 5% cashback rate paid in a native token is not the same as 5% cashback in a stablecoin.
Cards that pay rewards in stable assets, such as MetaMask (mUSD), Bleap (USDC), and ether.fi Cash (USDC), preserve the value of your cashback regardless of market conditions.
The difference between native tokens and stable assets becomes more important when a card requires you to hold the same token to unlock a higher cashback tier.
For instance, Crypto.com requires you to hold CRO, Wirex One requires WPAY holdings, Plutus requires PLU, Nexo uses NEXO loyalty tiers, COCA requires COCA staking, and Gnosis Pay rewards are tied to GNO participation. This creates double exposure: you depend on the token’s price to maintain your tier, and the cashback you receive is also exposed to the same token’s price.
That doesn’t mean token rewards are always worse. They can be significantly more valuable during a bull market. If the reward token appreciates after you receive it, your cashback can be worth more than the advertised rate.
It comes down to what you’re optimizing for. Stablecoin and fiat rewards are built for predictability. You know exactly what your cashback is worth when you receive it.

Crypto rewards credit cards work differently from other crypto cards. Instead of spending your own crypto, you borrow against a credit line and earn cryptocurrency as cashback on eligible purchases. However, you will typically need to pass a credit check and repay your balance like any other credit card.
In the US, the Gemini Credit Card is the standout option. It offers up to 4% back in cryptocurrency, has no annual fee, no foreign transaction fees, and lets you choose from more than 70 supported cryptocurrencies. Additionally, rewards are automatically deposited into your Gemini account as soon as the transaction settles.
Other notable crypto rewards credit cards include the Coinbase One Card, which offers up to 4% Bitcoin cashback for Coinbase One members, and the Crypto.com Visa Signature Credit Card, which pays up to 6% back in Bitcoin or CRO, depending on your membership tier and CRO holdings.
Outside these examples, most crypto cards are debit or prepaid. Debit cards spend your own money, whether from fiat, stablecoins, or cryptocurrency, while prepaid cards require you to load funds before spending.
For many users, a crypto rewards credit card offers the best of both worlds: the consumer protections and flexibility of a traditional credit card, and the ability to accumulate Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies through everyday spending. The trade-off is that you need good credit to qualify, and availability is often limited to a handful of countries.
Before applying for a crypto card, follow these four steps.
It depends on where you live and how the rewards are earned. In many countries, spending crypto with a debit card is treated as a disposal of that asset, which means you owe capital gains tax on any increase in value since you acquired it.
By contrast, crypto rewards earned from a credit card are treated differently and may be considered a purchase rebate rather than taxable income. However, any gain in value after you receive the rewards may be taxed when you later sell, swap, or spend them.
Consult a qualified tax professional if you’re unsure how the rules apply to you.
For each card, we checked the issuer’s official rewards and pricing pages. We recorded the cashback rate, reward cap, what unlocks the highest tier (such as a paid plan, staked tokens, or a minimum account balance), the rewards assets, and any annual membership cost.
| Criteria | Why it matters | Weight (%) |
| Net annual reward | We calculated how much cashback you would actually get after accounting for subscription fees, spending caps, and reward limits. | 40 |
| Fees & cost of entry | We assessed the subscription fees, staking and token-holding requirements, and any minimum balance required to get the advertised cashback rate. | 25 |
| Availability & access | We checked where each card is available, eligibility requirements, and how easy it is for users to apply for and use it. | 20 |
| Rewards asset | We considered whether rewards are paid in fiat, stablecoins, or cryptocurrencies, and whether users can choose the reward asset. | 15 |
All information was last verified and updated in August 2026 and is reviewed monthly. Our rankings are purely editorial, based on the CoinGape methodology, and are not paid placements.
Coinbase One Card arguably has the best cashback. It doesn’t have the highest cashback rate, but it strikes a balance between the reward asset, low annual cost, no token staking or lockups, and a clear reward structure.
Yes, but with conditions. Plutus advertises up to 9 percent, but it’s tied to a large amount of PLU holding and spending caps. For most users, the net cashback after those costs is much lower, which is why it’s important to compare the actual reward you can earn.
The Gemini Credit Card is the best crypto rewards credit card, especially for US users. It offers up to 4% back in crypto, charges no annual fee or foreign transaction fees, doesn’t require staking or token lockups, and automatically deposits rewards into your Gemini account after each purchase.
Both, depending on the card. Crypto.com pays in CRO, Plutus pays in PLUS, COCA pays in COCA, Gnosis Pay pays in GNO, and Nexo pays in BTC or NEXO. Meanwhile, Wirex One pays cashback in USD, Bleap and ether.fi pays in USDC, MetaMask pays in mUSD, and Gemini lets you choose from more than 70 cryptocurrencies.
Yes, most do. Crypto.com Ruby caps rewards at $25 per month, Plutus caps eligible spend at £250-£1,000 per plan, and Gnosis Pay caps spend at $1,250 per week. Uncapped rates are usually lower.
For the highest rates, usually yes. Crypto.com requires CRO staked for 12 months, Wirex requires holding WPAY, and Plutus requires PLU. Free tiers exist but pay less. Staked tokens are capital at risk, not a fee
Often yes. Many tax authorities treat rewards as income when received, and a later sale can trigger capital gains. Rules vary by country, so check local guidance. See our guide to crypto card taxes.
