Amazon is not exploring the metaverse, senior executive confirms.

May 20, 2022

Amazon’s senior vice president of devices and services, David Limp, said the company is more focused on technologies that affect the real world.

Speaking at the Wall Street Journal’s Future of Everything Festival, Limp said they are more focused on real world tech like ambient computing rather than metaverse.

“We’re spending a lot of time in my organization to enhance the here and now,” Amazon executive said.

While talking about the virtual world, Limp said that we don’t have a common definition of the term “metaverse” yet.

In Limp’s opinion, Zuckerberg is pretty long on vision and short on concrete details when it comes to Metaverse.

Amazon executive thinks AR glasses are better than VR because you get to see the real world at least.

Formerly known as Facebook, Meta reported a loss of $2.96 billion in the Q1 of 2022 in its ‘’metaverse’’ division.
