Kanye West is entering Web3 with NFTs and Metaverse.

June 2, 2022

Famous American rapper has filed 17 new trademark applications for NFTs and metaverse with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The trademark filing comes as a surprise as Ye had earlier posted that he is completely disinterested in NFTs.

Denouncing NFTs back in February, Kanye West posted that he is focusing on “building real products in the real world.”

Kanye is now following the footsteps of his fellow musicians who have already established themselves in the metaverse.

Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton and Madonna are some of the famous personalities in the music industry who have already launched several NFTs.

Notorious B.I.G., LLC, which manages Biggie Smalls’ intellectual property, filed three trademarks to release NFTs of the late rapper.

With NFTs being regularly mentioned in late night shows, the digital collectibles are becoming more and more mainstream.
