Binance removes its swastika looking emoji after Twitter outcry

Crypto exchange giant Binance launched an emoji on Twitter that looked like the Nazi symbol.

Binance removed the emoji after several users on Twitter pointed out the obvious resemblance.

Users also pointed out the fact that Binance chose to unveil the emoji on April 20, which happens to be Adolf Hitler's date of birth.

“Well that was obviously really embarrassing,” Binance's official Twitter handle tweeted after the outcry.

The crypto exchange giant has now replaced the controversial emoji.

Several users on Twitter sympathized with the emoji designers saying they might have related the symbol to old Asian religions, where it is seen as a symbol of spirituality.

Binance has since publicly apologized for the "embarrassing" incident.
