Bollywood production house buys virtual land in Metaverse

Jacky Bhagnani led Bollywood production house Pooja Entertainment has bought a virtual piece of land in the Metaverse, becoming the first Indian production house to have stepped into the digital universe

The company tweeted on February 15 that it purchased virtual land from a company called Cryptovoxels, a metaverse company built on Ethereum blockchain technology.

The virtual space is being called ‘Poojaverse’ and the production house is working on releasing Akshay Kumar and Jackie Shroff's ‘BadeMiyan ChoteMiyan’ on the platform in 2023.

The production house bought the virtual land for 1.87 Ether, which was worth $5,613.84 (4.22 lakh rupees) when it was purchased on Feb. 4.

Deepika Deshmukh said that entering the virtual world will make “Poojaverse the absolute go-to space for a quality entertainment and various aspects of filmmaking in the digital world.

Musicians like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Paris Hilton, and Snoop Dogg are also among the few celebs who have bought virtual spaces in the Metaverse.
