Elon Musk Asks Court To Dismiss $258 Bln DOGE Lawsuit

April 1, 2023

Tesla chief Elon Musk asked a U.S. judge on Friday to throw out a $258 billion lawsuit involving him and Dogecoin.

The lawsuit claims Elon is running a pyramid scheme to support the cryptocurrency Dogecoin.

Musk’s lawyers called the lawsuit by Dogecoin investors a “fanciful work of fiction” over Musk’s “innocuous and often silly tweets” about Dogecoin.

The lawsuit never explained how Musk intended to defraud anyone or what risks he concealed, Tesla and Musk’s lawyers said.

Musk’s lawyers urged the court to put a stop to plaintiffs’ fantasy and dismiss the complaint.

“There is nothing unlawful about tweeting words of support for a legitimate cryptocurrency that continues to hold a market cap of nearly $10 billion,” Musk’s lawyers said.

Twitter chief is known for tweeting about Dogecoin, but it was given that those tweets were only jokes to the richest person in the world.
