Elon Musk is Threatening to Pull Out From Twitter Deal Over Bots

Tech billionaire Elon Musk is threatening to walk away and call off the $44 billion Twitter deal over spam and fake accounts data.

Tesla CEO is alleging that the social media company is “actively resisting and thwarting his information rights” as outlined by the deal.

Musk has demanded Twitter to provide information about its testing methodologies to support its claims that bots constitute less than 5% of the platform’s active user base.

However, the social media platform claims that revealing such information would fall outside the scope of their contractual requirements.

Wall Street analysts are seeing this pushback from Musk as a strategy to pressure Twitter to negotiate a lower price for the $44 billion deal.

Earlier, Musk revealed to increase his personal commitment in Twitter takeover bid to $33.5 billion.

The eccentric billionaire had earlier tweeted that he is “committed” to acquire the microblogging platform.
