Elon Musk had a plan that involved combating bot spam by making people pay dogecoin to tweet.

“I have an idea for a blockchain social media system that does both payments and short text messages/links like twitter,” Elon Musk proposed.

“You have to pay a tiny amount to register your message on the chain, which will cut out the vast majority of spam and bots. There is no throat to choke, so free speech is guaranteed,” Musk added.

The world’s richest personality basically wanted users to pay Doge to use Twitter.

Musk also proposed a blockchain-based version of twitter, where the ‘tweets’ are embedded in the transaction of comments.

Musk had shared his plans via texts with Steve Davis, president of The Boring Company.

However, Musk later concluded that a blockchain-based Twitter would not be feasible at this time.
