As per Bloomberg reports, Twitter is expected to fall under the EU’s stricter content moderation rules.

Some EU officials were concerned that Twitter might not have enough users to fall under the bloc's Digital Services Act but it appears that it does now.

According to reports, Twitter and the EU's executive arm are preparing to designate the company as a very large online platform.

This implies that it has a sufficient number of monthly active EU users to be required to report on how it is reducing harmful posts.

Twitter can also be forced to change its algorithms by the European Commission.

If Musk fails to follow the rules, then it will be subject to a much more intrusive regulatory system and could face significant penalties.

Penalties may include up to 6% of the company's revenue or even a prohibition from operating in Europe.
