Kalush Orchestra, the Ukrainian folk band who won Eurovision competition, auctioned their trophy for 500 ETH, nearly $900,000.

The proceeds from the auction will be used to buy drones for Ukraine.

The Tallinn, Estonia-based company made a winning bit for 500 ethereum for the Eurovision trophy.

Kalush’s frontman’s pink hat also attracted a bid of $370,000 from a private buyer in the Czech Republic.

The folk band said that the money would go towards buying three drones and a control center for the needs of the Ukrainian forces.

Eurovision contest has been taking place since 1956.

This was the first time an Eurovision winner sold their trophy.
