As per the reports, Colombia’s Magdalena Administrative court held its first legal trial in the metaverse this month.
Participants in a traffic dispute appeared in a virtual courtroom as avatars.
The avatar of Magistrate Maria Quinones Triana was dressed in black legal robes.
The country is among earliest to test real legal hearings in the metaverse with avatars representing each participant.
Quiones told Reuters the metaverse experience was amazing and it felt more real than a video call.
She mentioned that in Zoom call people turn off their cameras and there is no idea what they’re doing.
She added that this is an academic experiment to demonstrate that it is possible and if everyone agrees to it, can continue to do things in the metaverse.
