Crypto billionaire and CEO of FTX exchange Sam Bankman-Fried showed interest in buying Twitter before Elon Musk back in March this year.
According to the Business Insider report, text exchanges between Elon Musk and SBF’s advisor Will MacAskill reveal how the crypto billionaire had intentions to buy Twitter.
“I'm not sure if this is what's on your mind, but my collaborator Sam Bankman-Fried has for a while been potentially interested in purchasing,” MacAskill texted Musk.
Musk inquired whether SBF had “huge amounts of money,” and MacAskill claimed that SBF was worth $24 billion at the time.
According to the report, MacAskill claimed that SBF was ready to spend $8 to $15 billion on the Twitter deal.
However, Musk didn’t show any much interest and noted that he didn't want to "have a laborious blockchain debate" with the crypto billionaire.
Musk and Twitter are gearing up for a legal battle that will decide the future of Twitter.
