Gucci Goes All In On Crypto, Adds These New Tokens

August 3, 2022

Luxury brand Gucci that started accepting crypto payments back in May has announced to add new cryptocurrencies.

BitPay announced new support for two more coins on Tuesday, ApeCoin and Euro Coin. Gucci announced to accept one of these options through the platform.

With the addition of ApeCoin, Gucci’s customers will have a dozen or so options to pay for goods with cryptocurrencies.

Now US stories in Gucci accept Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Wrapped Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Shiba Inu and 5 USD-pegged stablecoins (GUSD, USDC, USDP, DAI and BUSD).

The Italian luxury brand dipped its toe in crypto with just five stores initially, but the firm later expanded it to other stores in the US as well.

More than two-thirds of Gucci’s U.S.-based stores accept the alternative payments, representing 70 percent of its full, directly operated network in this market.

Gucci aims to enable crypto payments in all of the US stores soon.
