Hackers demanded $200,000 from Twitter to return the data stolen and warned that the data would be released for free if demand was not met.
Privacy Affairs researchers confirmed that the leaked data set on the hacker forum is the same from December.
In this case, 200 million number is the result of removing duplicates and shared records that do not contain the phone numbers of users.
Also, Privacy Affairs reported that the database uploaded to the forum is of 63 GB and contains information such as name, follower number, and registered email address.
The researchers warned that leaked data could be used for social engineering or doxxing campaigns and could also be used to hack Twitter users’ accounts.
