Iconic fashion brand Gucci to start accepting crypto payments.

May 05, 2022

The fashion brand announced to accept crypto payments at some of the US stores starting this month.

The high-end luxury fashion house plans to extend its pilot project to all of its North American stories later this summer.

In-store crypto payments will be done with a link sent to the customer via email containing a QR code, Vogue Business reported.

The Italian fashion brand had earlier announced that owners of two of its NFT projects, SuperGucci and Gucci Grail, would have special access to pre-order a Gucci collection.

The fashion brand will accept Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Wrapped Bitcoin, Litecoin, Shiba Inu, Dogecoin, and five stablecoins pegged to the US dollar.

Gucci president and CEO Marco Bizzarri said integrating crypto payments is a natural evolution for those customers who would like to have this option available.

Earlier, fashion brand Off-White announced to start accepting cryptocurrency payments in its flagship stores in Paris, London, and Milan.
