Hakuhodo to Start Joint Crypto Venture with Stake Technologies
September 27, 2022
Japanese advertising firm Hakuhodo DY Holdings plans to form a joint venture with cryptocurrency entrepreneurs to help clients to build called Web3 businesses.
Hakuhodo Inc. is to launch the startup this year with Singapore-based Web3 infrastructure developer Stake Technologies Pte., headed by Sota Watanabe.
This move follows a pledge made by the Japanese government led by Prime Minister Fumio Kishida earlier this year.
This will support the growth of Japan's Web3 industry, including crypto-based businesses.
As part of this, the government plans to change tax laws to make it cheaper for companies to issue and store crypto tokens.
Hakuhodo has strengthened its cooperation with Stake Technologies, known for the Astar blockchain.
This aims to meet demand from Japanese companies looking to enter the crypto-related business.
