MasterCard Will Help Banks Offer Crypto Trading Services

The payments giant Mastercard is launching a program to let financial institutions offer cryptocurrency trading to their clients, reported by CNBC.

The payments giant will act as a "bridge" between Paxos and banks to help them offer crypto trading services.

The company announced that it will manage the regulatory compliance and security for the banks.

Mastercard's chief digital officer Jorn Lambert had earlier said that there is demand for cryptocurrencies among their clients.

The payments giant said they will focus on keeping the banks on the right side of regulation by following crypto compliance rules.

Mastercard's chief digital officer did not reveal which banks have signed up so far.

The company is hoping more activity down the road that would lead to more transactions and fuel Mastercard's core business.
