The proceeds from the auction will go to South Africa’s Liliesleaf Museum. The museum documents South Africa’s struggle for democracy.

Nelson Mandela was arrested in 1962 for conspiring to overthrow the apartheid government in South Africa.

Earlier, the heritage site received about $50,000 following an auction of an NFT of Oliver Tambo’s pen gun.

The buyer of the NFT will have exclusive access to the original document at the South Africa’s Liliesleaf Museum.

A BAYC NFT was also auctioned for $310,000 at the NFT auction, chief executive officer of Momint, Ahren Posthumus, revealed.

Last week, Ukraine unveiled an NFT museum where the most memorable events of the ongoing Ukrainian-Russian conflict will be displayed.

According to the country’s Prime Minister, the museum will serve as a place to celebrate “the Ukrainian identity and freedom.”
