Mark Zuckerberg’s sister talks about Metaverse and what’s stopping it from going mainstream.

August 18,2022

The sister of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Randi Zuckerberg, said that smooth and “complete decentralization” of Web3 is not yet a reality.

Web3 is a hypothetical, future version of the internet based on blockchain technology — an “ideal utopia,” said the CEO of Zuckerberg Media.

Zuckerberg thinks what’s going on with Metaverse right now is chaos.

Meta founder’s sister noted that various metaverses are now acting as “their own walled garden,” in which users are unable to use their assets across platforms.

In Zuckerberg’s opinion, in order to really unlock the potential of Web3, we’re going to need to figure out a system where there’s interoperability.

” What you have goes with you wherever you are, [and] we’re not there yet,” Zuckerberg added.

Earlier, Meta reported $2.8 billion loss in its virtual reality division in Q2 2022.
