Seized Silk Road bitcoins worth $3 billion to clear Ross Ulbricht’s debt

Ross Ulbricht, who is currently serving a double life sentence, was also ordered to pay $183 million in restitution.

Thanks to a newly found stack of bitcoins that was stolen from the Silk Road marketplace, Ulbricht’s debt will be cleared.

According to a Wired report, prosecutors had quietly signed an agreement with the Silk Road founder stipulating that a portion of the seized bitcoin will be used to cancel out the debt.

Ross Ulbricht has already served eight years of his double life sentence plus 40 years in jail.

With his restitution being paid off, Ross will be able to earn money in prison to share with family or friends without it being seized by the government.

If by any stroke of luck Ross’s sentence is commuted, he will enter the new world debt-free.

The Silk Road founder continues to give his opinion on bitcoin and release NFT arts from behind the bars to help social causes.
