San Francisco DA Slams Elon Musk Over Lee's Death

April 14, 2023

San Francisco's District Attorney has criticized Elon Musk for a tweet about the death of former SpaceX colleague Bob Lee.

In the tweet, Musk called Lee's death a "strange" and "murder most foul," leading to speculation and theories.

District Attorney Chesa Boudin said that Musk's tweet was "reckless and irresponsible" as it could interfere with an ongoing investigation.

He added that such comments can "taint a jury pool or otherwise interfere with justice."

Boudin called on Musk to respectfully withdraw his tweet and avoid commenting on any pending investigations.

Several tech executives and VCs who commented on Lee's death via Twitter shared concerns about crime and safety in San Francisco.

Musk has not responded to the criticism as of yet.
