Retired basketball star Shaquille O’Neal has been served personally in a class-action lawsuit filed against FTX exchange.
The lawsuit alleges that O'Neal and other celebrity spokespeople promoted the exchange falsely.
After an unsuccessful attempt to serve O'Neal in Texas, his Atlanta home was served, and the process was recorded by his home security cameras.
Adam M. Moskowitz, the attorney leading the lawsuit, said that O'Neal would have to explain in federal court his "FTX: I Am All In" false advertising campaign.
The list of celebrities being sued for promoting FTX includes Stephen Curry, Udonis Haslem, Trevor Lawrence, Shohei Ohtani, David Ortiz, Naomi Osaka, Kevin O'Leary, and Giselle Bündchen.
The lawsuit seeks to hold these celebrities accountable for promoting FTX, claiming that their endorsements misled investors.
The defendants will now have to appear in federal court and defend themselves against the allegations.
