The president of Goldman Sachs-backed digital bank Starling, Anne Boden, has harshly criticized cryptocurrencies.

During the 20/20 fintech conference in Amsterdam, Boden said cryptocurrencies are very dangerous.

“A lot of crypto wallets are being connected directly to payment schemes,” the bank's president said.

Boden asserted that crypto companies have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to anti-money laundering controls.

Starling chief also complained that we are spending more time protecting customers from the scammers than we are trying to promote crypto.

Starling is unlikely to offer cryptocurrency services anytime soon.

Payment giants like Visa and PayPal are embracing cryptocurrencies.
