Tesla reported $170 million in impairment charges on its bitcoin holdings.

Electric car maker Tesla revealed it still holds $222 million worth bitcoin in its latest SEC filing on Monday.

Tesla had earlier revealed that it sold off 75% of its bitcoin holdings to strengthen its cash position.

After selling off $936 worth of bitcoins, the electric car company still holds $222 million in the leading cryptocurrency.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk had earlier said that they are open to increase their bitcoin holdings in the future.

Austin headquartered company reported $170 million in impairment charges against its bitcoin holdings in the first half of 2022.

The electric-car maker also reported $64 million in gains from certain sales of its bitcoin holdings.
