The 66th birthday of the first known Bitcoin recipient is celebrated by cryptocurrency enthusiasts!
The late computer scientist Hal Finney was the world’s first known person to receive a bitcoin transaction.
Hal Finney can come back to life via a technological medium in the future because he was cryopreserved by the Alcor Life Extension Foundation.
Crypto enthusiasts honoured him on social media, with many saying, "Today, we’re all running Bitcoin."
Satoshi Nakamoto reportedly sent 10 bitcoins to Finney in 2009. Finney was apparently the first person besides Satoshi to run Bitcoin.
Finney left us due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neuron disease, in Phoenix in 2014.
Satoshi Nakamoto would have celebrated his birthday. Maybe Finney knew who Satoshi Nakamoto was?
