Twitter will now show labels on tweets with reduced visibility.

Twitter under Elon Musk has been taking drastic steps towards the platform’s services and safety

Their latest action strives towards more transparency in the enforcement actions they take on tweets that might violate the rules of conduct.

Twitter said today that it will add labels to tweets flagged by the company in order to reduce their visibility and reach.

This move was made towards the increasing hateful comments on the platform and has been named, ‘freedom of speech, not reach’

“Restricting the reach of Tweets helps reduce binary ‘leave up versus take down’ content moderation decisions and supports our freedom of speech vs freedom of reach approach.”

The flagged tweets will show text such as “Visibility limited: this Tweet may violate Twitter’s rules against Hateful Conduct.”

The tweets with such labels will not show up in search results, recommendations, or timelines.
