Twitter has denied Researcher's claim about 200 million users data leak.
There was no evidence that data recently being sold online was obtained by exploiting a vulnerability in the company’s systems, Twitter said in its statement.
Twitter said 5.4 million users’ data had been compromised by a bug it discovered early last year, which it previously fixed and disclosed over the summer.
In a blogpost, Twitter also clarified that another 600 million users’ data could not be correlated with the previously reported incident, nor with any new incident.
The data is likely a collection of data already publicly available online through different sources,” Twitter said.
As per the reports, the personal details of over 200 million Twitter users were leaked on a hacker forum.
The privacy researchers had warned that leaked data could be used for social engineering.
