Study suggest, Australians  spend more on cryptocurrencies

September 26, 2022

Despite a harsh crypto winter, 72% of Australians who own cryptocurrencies reported making an average profit of $7,152.

Interestingly, Australian women make more money in crypto than Australian men.

Survey by crypto exchange Swyftx, Australian women report profits of $7314, compared to $7089 for Australian men.

Also, “Crypto-spending has increased by 10pp over this past 12 months with 53% of crypto-owning Aussies reporting they have used their crypto to make purchases”.

Around 1 million Down Under citizens are expected to enter the cryptocurrency market for the first time in 2022-2023.

Millennials and Gen Z are the most likely to purchase digital assets.

A major hurdle to market entry for non-cryptocurrency users is the lack of effective regulation.
