Russian media house is turning to crypto amid Putin’s crackdown.

Russian President Putin’s media crackdown has forced many media houses to shut down.

A prominent independent Russian media outlet Meduza’s readers complained that they were unable to send payments via stripe, Bloomberg reported.

Russian authorities blocked Meduza’s content in the country. Readers are using VPNs to access the stories.

The independent media house is asking its international audience to donate in cryptocurrencies.

The donation page on the website guides users on how to buy cryptocurrencies on Binance.

The website also guides users to send untraceable payments via Monero who are worried about anonymity.

The Kremlin earlier this year blocked Instagram and Meta under ‘’extremism law.’’
