In a bid to make Telegram the super app, a new Protocol called Affluent based on TON blockchain has launched today. It is co-founded by former TON Director Justin Hyun who is now serving as the co-CEO of the new app.
Launched “inside Telegram”, Justin believes “With over billion monthly users, Telegram is uniquely equipped to become the next great financial super app.” Affluent aims to simplify the DeFi services of borrowing and lending by making them available directly to Telegram users.
The New Crypto “Mini App” Affluent Inside Telegram
Unveiled last month and previously called as Factorial, Affluent describes itself a “trustless asset‑management layer” built on TON.
It aims to provide institutional investors yield on Gold, Bitcoin and RWAs against $TON or $tsTON with ‘one tap access.’ It follows vault-of-vaults’ model which presently includes “Strategy Vault” and “TON Multiply vaults” for amplifying yields upto 400%.
In the next months, Affluent also aims to include USDT Multiply Cauly, Strategy Vaults and run a “Defi Simplified” campaign across the Telegram. These vaults are powered by RFQ RFQ (Request for Quote) system, whereby trusted market maker can seamlessly tap cross-chain liquidity. RFQ allows us to outsource liquidity logistics, eliminating the need to source everything within the constraints of a local DeFi market.
According to the project Affluent, this model reallocates liquidity across strategies to ensure optimal yield – no matter what the market conditions are.
James Wynn has revealed in a X article, that just like Tencent and Alipay drove mass adoption in China, Telegram can lead similar revolution for blockchain and web3.
It is interesting to note that Telegram Founder Paul Durov himself is pushing this strategy forward. The web2 messaging platform recently launched its integrated NFT-based Telegram Gift Marketplace.
In March only, its native blockchain, TON received $400 million funding to drive the growth of blockchain forward. It has already updated and enhanced the accessibility of its integrated Crypto Wallet in Telegram.
Thus, the launch of another money market Protocol, Affluent, inside Telegram comes as a boost for the ongoing vision of making it a “super app.”
