World, the Sam Altman–backed crypto identity project, has been expanding rapidly. It recently strengthened its presence in its home base, the United States, and entered the East Asian market via Taiwan.
In its latest move to bring biometric verification to more people worldwide, World has announced a major step. It has partnered with Rappi, the leading delivery platform in Latin America to provide “verification at home” in Argentina.
World has partnered with the largest delivery partner of the region, Rappi, to provide biometric verification at home. It first launched the at home initiative as a pilot run in the neighbourhoods of Belgrano and Palermo but has now expanded to capital Bueno Aires as well.
Door-to-Door Verification Initiated by Sam Altman’s Crypto Project
The partnership, according to the project, is part of expanding World ID services across Latin America.
The “door-to-door” project makes it easy for users to get their biometric verification done. Without the requirement of travel, people living in the Argentine cities can access the Orb tool at home via Rappi application.
According to the blog announcement, all that a user has to do is search for “World” in Rappi. The delivery platform’s app would then fix the time slot as selected by the person. A person from Rappie with Orb device would travel to the respective home and perform the verification.
Orb is the spherical device that is used by World to capture and verify users’ iris scans to establish a unique identity called as “World ID.”
The Rappie personnel will then transmit the data in encrypted form to partnering institutions’ back-end systems. Final verification status would be received via a SMS.

Thus, this is going to significantly decrease the feasibility of accessing World’s services with more people expected to be using it.
As of writing, World has deployed Orbs and is offering World ID verifications in at least 17 countries across multiple continents. This includes US, Germany, UK, France, Spain among others.
Building on its success, World plans to expand in late 2025 into additional Latin American markets such as Colombia, Peru and secondary cities in Brazil with planned relaunch in India. Countries like France and India have paused or restricted Orb deployments due to stringent biometric data laws
World’s WLD token has also witnessed an increase in supply. In 2023, at launch, only 100 million WLD were circulating but today that figure had risen to about 1.3 billion WLD – indicating increased adoption.
WLD Token Market Cap Since its launch
According to the stats shared by the project, over 12 million people have verified their identity via World’s Orb. As the initiative unfolds across Argentina, the Verification at Home model could also serve as a blueprint for World to enter other markets.
Further, if successful, the partnership between World and Rappi may redefine how identity verification is conducted. There are possibilities that it can offer “door-to-door” service in other markets as well.
