TrueNorth:- In a first of its kind, Woo executive WIlly Chuang and ex-Temasek AI investor Dr. Alex Lee are building crypto’s first AI discovery engine – TrueNorth.
As per the latest Press Release, its vision has received support from LayerZero, SEI, Selini Capital, Virtuals and RWA-focused Plume in a strategic angel round. As the web2 search engine model works on filtering the relevant data for the user, in the same way TrueNorth aims to filter the relevant trading data for crypto traders.
What exactly is TrueNorth
TrueNorth, unveiled on June 5, aims to act as the AI-powered portfolio partner of traders. It leverages AI Agents to scan on-chain transactions, social feeds, project metrics, and macroeconomic indicators in real time. AI agents in crypto are the autonomous software “workers” that leverage on-chain data, off-chain feeds, and machine-learning models to execute tasks.
Recently, they have been integrated by many web3 brands to automate complex workflows such trading, research, security, and infrastructure.
TrueNorth aims to expand the ongoing use cases of AI Agents in crypto by preparing a customizable trading dashboard. It consists of three critical components:
1. AI portfolio of users which will be tracked 24/7 by AI Agents explaining the movements behind the asset prices
2. Agentic Search – to provide users deep research the get new trend
3. Spotlight on the real trading signals “deep buried within fragmented Twitter Heads”.
By combing the massive amount of data from X threads, newsfeeds or from Telegram discussions, it aims to provide traders information that can turn his portfolio profitable.
TrueNorth is built up on the fleet of autonomous “agents”. These agents are specialized for tasks like on-chain signal detection, social-sentiment mining, macro-indicator tracking, or NFT drop alerts. Thus, helping in traders accessing data faster with the help of AI.
TrueNorth is currently in closed beta, working with its initial cohort of 500 early adopters called “Truthsayers.”
AI and Crypto
TrueNorth comes as the latest innovative product riding high on the increasing integration of Artificial Intelligence with blockchain and crypto.
There are other projects as well working on integrating AI in crypto. Quantum Blockchain Technologies has integrated an “AI Oracle” to optimize Bitcoin mining efficiencies. Chainlink’s AI-Powered Oracle Initiative is working on to demonstrate how LLMs can be combined with on-chain oracles.
However, the debate about its use cases continues to rock the web3 experts. In a recent post, Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin called AI “barely helpful”. He said that only in areas where he is a novice, it has been extremely useful.
