Kamala Harris Releases First Election Ad Ahead Bitcoin Conference

Published by

Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign has gained significant traction following President Joe Biden’s announcement that he would not seek re-election. Harris, now running for the Democratic nomination, released her first official campaign video less than a week after Biden’s decision. Moreover, the ad release comes just after she refused to attend the Bitcoin Conference commencing today.

Kamala Harris’s Ad Doesn’t Mention Finance Or Crypto

The ad marks a pivotal moment in her campaign, highlighting her swift rise to the position of presumptive nominee in an election just over 100 days away. The ad, launched on Thursday morning, begins with uplifting shots of Harris smiling behind a podium, accompanied by the words “Kamala Harris,” and the American flag.

Furthermore, Beyoncé’s song “Freedom” serves as the powerful soundtrack. This sets an inspirational tone as it played during Harris’s first speech to her campaign staffers. “There are some people who think we should be a country of chaos. Of fear. Of hate,” Harris declares, with visuals of Donald Trump and JD Vance.

She added, “But us, we choose something different.” Harris continues, “We choose freedom,” as Beyoncé’s chorus intensified: “Freedom, freedom, I can’t move. Freedom cut me loose. Freedom, freedom where are you, cause I need freedom too.”

Moreover, Harris emphasizes the need for various freedoms, including safety from gun violence, bodily autonomy, and economic security. “Freedom not just to get by, but to get ahead. The freedom to be safe from gun violence. The freedom to make decisions about your own body. We choose a future where no child lives in poverty. Where we can all afford healthcare. Where no one is above the law,” she asserted.

The ad visually underscores her message with headlines such as “Guilty, Indicted, and Convicted.” These remarks potentially referenced Pro-Bitcoin candidate Trump as it included an image of Stormy Daniels. Harris concludes with a call to action: “We believe in the promise of America and we’re ready to fight for it. Because when we fight. We win.”

Noticeably absent from Harris’s ad are mentions of financial markets, including crypto and Bitcoin. This omission comes on the heels of David Bailey’s announcement that Harris would not be speaking at the Bitcoin Conference 2024. Moreover, the crypto community accelerated backlash against Kamala Harris.

Bailey criticized her absence, citing her negative stance toward the crypto industry. “Kamala Harris will not be speaking at The Bitcoin Conference. No surprise,” Bailey stated, highlighting the tension between Harris and the crypto community.

Furthermore, Bailey further commented on the political landscape. He emphasized the stark choice facing voters regarding cryptocurrency policy. He made a clear statement, noting, “Choice is simple really, Trump Pump or Biden Dump?” His remarks underscore the divergent views on cryptocurrency within the political arena.

The crypto community reacted swiftly to Harris’s decision, with influencer Tony Edward calling it an “epic mistake.” Initially, there was some optimism that Harris’s participation might indicate a softer stance towards digital currencies. However, Bailey’s confirmation of her absence reignited criticism and disappointment among crypto enthusiasts.

In a contrasting move, RFK Jr. has made a bold pledge regarding Bitcoin. Ahead of the Bitcoin Conference, he announced, “I would like to have the federal government begin to buy Bitcoin and over my term in office, ultimately have an equivalent amount of Bitcoin that we have gold.”

He also proposed issuing Treasury bills anchored to a basket of hard currencies, including Bitcoin, as part of his plan to decentralize and stabilize the economy. In addition, Donald Trump and RFK Jr. are slated to speak at the Bitcoin Conference 2024, pegging high stakes.
