Sources told the Wall Street Journal on November 22 that US President-elect Donald Trump floated the idea of naming Kevin Warsh as Treasury Secretary. Warsh and Apollo Global Management CEO Marc Rowan met with Donald Trump on Wednesday.

Also, the Trump transition team considered Warsh to replace Jerome Powell later as Federal Reserve Chairman. Fed Chair Powell’s term ends in mid-2026. Donald Trump is also thinking about appointing Scott Bessent to lead the White House National Economic Council and later replace Warsh as the Treasury Secretary.

Polymarket data indicates significant fluctuations in odds for the top Treasury position. At press time, Warsh leads with 60% odds of getting picked for the top Treasury position.

Gary Gensler has officially announced his resignation as US SEC Chair and debates on the candidates have picked pace. Notably, President Donald Trump has nominated Brad’s sister former Florida AG Pam Bondi as the next Attorney General of the United States of America.
