The Central European country, Slovenia has announced the issuance of its own NFT, becoming the world’s first-ever country to do so. The Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology along with the public agency for the promotion of entrepreneurship and investment, SPIRIT, and the Ljubljana Technology Park have collaborated to boost Slovenia’s Expo showcase in Dubai, opening on October 1, with the help of distributing the latest internet obsession, NFTs.

According to the announcement, the tokens will be distributed to visitors of the Slovenian Expo pavilion as a gift in the form of a promotional card-carrying instructions. Furthermore, a unique eight-digit number will be allotted to all receivers that will further allow them to access the digital wallet to claim their respective non-fungible tokens. The country’s NFT collection will feature a collection of unique digital 3D exhibits along with 360-degree panoramic high-definition photographs.

NFT could put Slovenia on the digital map

State Secretary, Simon Zajc announced the technologically advanced and innovative NFT project, stating that it could put Slovenia on the map with the most digitally advanced countries, enabling the development of blockchain technology of the future. He further stated that NFTs will also facilitate the development of digital competence of individuals and companies as every visitor will be able to create their own digital wallet based on Slovenian blockchain technology.

“Slovenia is thus being presented at EXPO Dubai 2020 as an innovative, digital and smart destination whose pavilion is certainly worth a visit for its distinctive leafy facade, interesting content, new business opportunities and the NFTs,” said State Secretary, Simon Zajc.

NFT trend takes over

NFT frenzy has taken over multiple spheres in lieu of its approachable yet unique nature. Recently, the burger giant, Burger King announced the launch of its latest non-fungible token (NFT) campaign, ‘Keep It Real Meals‘, organized in partnership with celebrities Nelly, Anitta, and LILHUDDY. Other food and beverage franchises like Budweiser and Taco Bell have also tried their hand in the NFT market and have experienced considerable success.
