Google Chief Executive Officer Sundar Pichai on Thursday revealed his company’s plans to add artificial intelligence (AI) technology to the Search function. He made the statement in the context of an array of AI fed projects like ChatGPT gaining popularity. Hence, with rival companies OpenAI and Microsoft joining the race to gain hold of the AI market, Pichai said the opportunity space got wider now.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, the CEO rejected the perception that AI chatbots could become a threat to his company’s Search business. More interestingly, Pichai said the company was making efforts to add AI features to the Search. He said the Search operations would directly be able to assist in answering questions using large language models (LLMs), in a different way. New search products, those with the ability to interact with follow-up questions, are under progress at Google, he added.
The prospect of Google Search becoming AI friendly appears interesting considering the instant success of OpenAI’s ChatGPT. In the blockchain and crypto space, these chatbots could have huge long term impact considering their uses like market research and smart contract creation. Read More..
