AI News: NVIDIA and Google Joins Forces to Launch Gemma
Highlights
- NVIDIA and Google have partnered to enhance its new Gemma product
- Gemma can help users develop with LLM models with ease
- Growing AI powerplay now driving new tech frontiers
In a dramatic twist in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) world, NVIDIA and Google have entered into a strategic partnership that will see the latter’s Gemma AI into the former’s suit of products. This partnership is poised to set a new pace for tech giants, particularly those seeking to establish their reign in the AI world.
NVIDIA and Google Gemma: New Capabilities Unleashed
As one of the core pioneers in the tech world, Google boasts of Gemma, its sophisticated new lightweight 2 billion and 7 billion parameter open language models that can be integrated into virtually any platform. Through the partnership, Gemma would be processed on NVIDIA’s GPUs to help it amplify its performance.
Gemma’s uniqueness came from similar models that were used to create Google Bard (now Gemini) and the AI’s capabilities are further amplified seeing they are powered by NVIDIA TensorRT-LLM open source Library.
One unique highlight of the integration of Gemma is its integration with “Chat with RTX,” a customized Large Language Model (LLM) launched by NVIDIA earlier this month. This integration will empower users and alongside TensorRT-LLM software will give anyone the generative AI capabilities on their personal computers.
Another added advantage of the entire collaboration is that the Gemma software is relatively faster with results and as it runs locally, it does not have to share its results with third parties or operate using the internet.
NVIDIA’s presence in the AI world has paid off altogether with its latest earnings showing $22.1 billion in revenue in Q4 2024, up by more than 7% from general expectation.
AI Power-play: New Dimension in Innovation
Just like NVIDIA and Google are innovating to maintain dominance in the artificial intelligence world, other key players like OpenAI and Microsoft Corporation are also worthy of note.
OpenAI released Sora recently, its text-to-vide generating tool that shocked the tech world with its hyper-realistic videos. The AI world has generated a lot of hype recently with regulators clamoring for proper guidelines to caution innovators.
As more AI innovations are making their way into the tech world, their impact on humans remains a major source of concern to industry leaders. While personalities like Elon Musk were once against the active development of the technology, responsible innovation is now the major emphasis.
There is hardly any major tech firm that is not exploring a dive into AI with Adobe even launching its own Generative AI solution for use in PDFs.
