Highlights
The popular cryptocurrency and Web3 firm Bitget was among the sponsors of the Catalunya Grand Prix in Barcelona. This showcased the integration of motorsport and blockchain fan engagement.
The activation followed Bitget’s earlier appearances at the Italian and German Grand Prix. In Barcelona, the company delivered its boldest showcase yet. According to a press release, a 360-degree Fan Booth was set inside the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
This drew long queues of fans eager to try the pro-grade MotoGP simulator, take part in challenges, and capture “Make It Count” moments beside racing machines.
The highlight of the weekend was the launch of Bitget’s Smarter Speed Challenge. MotoGP icon Jorge Lorenzo introduced the virtual racing campaign, which runs until mid-November.
Participants can compete in global online races, climb leaderboards, and win rewards such as cash, coupons, and even MotoGP 2026 VIP passes. The Catalunya champion secured an all-expenses-paid trip to Singapore to meet Lorenzo during TOKEN2049 this October.
In addition to motorsport, the Web3 company has also been strengthening its presence in financial innovation. Recently, Bitget partnered with Ondo Finance to bring tokenized stocks and ETFs to its ecosystem.
Bitget extended the energy by teaming with famous motorsport personalities and digital creators. Notable figures included commentator Nico Abad, racer Christine GZ, and former MotoGP rider Rubén Xaus.
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said racing culture fits in with crypto innovation. She said the spirit of MotoGP reflects a push of limits and that same drive enables Bitget to give fans an authentic experience in Catalunya.
That weekend fit Bitget’s larger mission of combining real-world passion with digital finance. The race weekend is over, but the challenge continues with daily check-ins, virtual laps and big prizes.
Though fan engagement was clearly the main event, Bitget’s ecosystem token BGB also caught some eye. Recently, Morph Chain adopted BGB as its native token, which strengthened its role in broader Web3 adoption.
At $4.84 as of writing, the value of BGB had gained 0.17% daily, according to TradingView data. The token performed well over longer periods despite a slight daily slip. BGB climbed 7.08% in seven days, 8.06% a month ago and 15.63% over 6 months.
Its biggest jump came on a yearly basis, rising 419% from last year. This increased confidence in the Bitget ecosystem as it continues its move into global sports and cultural partnerships.
