On Friday, February 12, the world’s largest service provider of cryptocurrency payment services BitPay announced its integration with Apple Pay. The platform stated that all its U.S. customers using the BitPay PrePaid MasterCard can add it to the Apple Wallet and further spend their holdings with Apple Pay.

This is a big step in getting cryptocurrency use for daily purchases like in apps, stores, and online. On the other hand, it also brings the Cupertino-based tech giant closer to the crypto ecosystem. Well, speculations are already ripe that Apple might start its crypto trading facility in time to come and gain more market share.

Customers who have just been a part of the BitPay ecosystem and waiting to receive their plastic cards, can add their virtual BitPay card to Apple Wallet through the BitPay Wallet app and can start spending immediately. However, just make sure that you have the most recent version of BitPay app downloaded.

BitPay CEO Stephen Pair said that the company is also working on adding support for Samsung Pay and Google and shall be available by later this year. Mr. Pair said:

We have thousands of BitPay Wallet app customers using the BitPay Card who are always looking for new places and ways to spend their crypto. Adding Apple Pay and soon Google and Samsung Pay makes it easy and convenient to use the BitPay Card in more places from day-to-day items to luxury purchases.”
