What Are Other Investments of Hanwha in Crypto

Hanwha’s increased ownership in Securitize aligns with its broader blockchain investment strategy. Through its financial subsidiaries, the conglomerate has been steadily expanding exposure to digital asset infrastructure, tokenization and institutional blockchain platforms.

Hanwha Investment & Securities has committed hundreds of millions of dollars to digital asset businesses. This includes investments in blockchain intelligence platform Xangle, Web3 wallet and RWA services provider Kresus, and enterprise blockchain firm Digital Asset, developer of the Canton Network.

Recently, it also increased its ownership in Dunamu, operator of South Korea’s largest crypto exchange Upbit, to 9.84%. The group is also building its own tokenization platform for private-market and real estate assets. That shows its ambition to become a major player in institutional blockchain finance.

 Securitize Crosses $5 Billion Milestone

The investment comes as Securitize continues to cement its position as the world’s leading real-world asset (RWA) tokenization platform. The company recently became the first tokenization platform to surpass $5 billion in tokenized asset value.

This has been driven by strong institutional adoption of products including BlackRock’s USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL), Apollo’s Diversified Credit Fund, Hamilton Lane funds, KKR’s tokenized offerings, and other on-chain investment products.

According to data from rwa.xyz, Securitize currently supports 24 tokenized real-world assets with more than 1,850 holders. The platform has recorded over $945 million in monthly transfer volume. Its distributed asset value recently climbed to around $4.82 billion, making it the largest tokenization platform globally by assets under management.
