Who is Global Onchain Summit Speaker, State Street’s Zahid Mustafa

Mustafa joins a growing roster of speakers, including Arthur Hayes, CIO and Co-Founder of Maelstrom, and Franklin Templeton Senior Vice President Chetan Karkhanis. This comes as the summit continues to bring together leaders from traditional finance and the digital asset industry.

Zahid Mustafa is the Head of Digital Custody and Cash, Product Development at State Street. In his current role, he leads the development of institutional solutions spanning digital custody, tokenization, and digital cash for wholesale financial markets.

Mustafa joined State Street in 2019 and has been part of its digital assets business since 2021, rising from Vice President of Product Development at State Street Digital to Managing Director before assuming his current position.

State Street oversees more than $50 trillion in assets under custody and administration, making it one of the most influential financial institutions exploring digital asset infrastructure. As banks increasingly move toward tokenized assets and blockchain-based settlement, Mustafa has been closely involved in the firm’s digital asset strategy.

Prior to State Street, he held senior leadership roles at EY, Deutsche Bank, and Aon, leading large-scale banking, capital markets, and regulatory transformation programs. With nearly three decades of experience across financial services, Mustafa has worked extensively on market infrastructure, custody, and institutional product development. This makes him one of the key executives driving traditional finance’s transition toward tokenized and onchain financial markets.

Sharing his excitement about participating in the summit, Mustafa said in a Linkedin post:

“Welcome the opportunity to participate with a fantastic line-up of institutional participants on the evolving landscape of tokenisation of real world assets, digital asset infrastructure and fungible on-chain money at the Global Onchain Summit.”
