Breaking: Animoca Brands To Sponsor MotoGP Races

Animoca Brands on Wednesday said it has reached an agreement with Dorna Sports to get naming rights of MotoGP Grand Prix Australia and Aragon. The two MotoGP events will be named as the Gran Premio Animoca Brands de Aragon and the Animoca Brands Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
In fact, Animoca Brands is an official partner of MotoGP since 2019. The gaming venture capital firm gained rights to develop NFTs and developing MotoGP Ignition, a competitive management and collectibles game platform.
Animoca Brands Becomes Title Sponsor of MotoGP Grand Prix
Animoca Brands, in an official announcement on its website on June 8, revealed that it has strengthened its partnership with Dorna Sports, the commercial rights holder of the Grand Prix racing, to get title sponsorships for two Grand Prix seasons.
The gaming firm will be the title sponsor for MotoGP Aragon and Australia this season, as well as two more events in 2023.
Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, said:
“There is no more distinguished brand in the world of professional motorcycle racing than MotoGP, and we are proud to provide our sponsorship and inclusion into the REVV Motorsport ecosystem.”
He believes the naming rights will help increase the adoption of Animoca Brands’ REVV Motorsports racing blockchain games, with REVV as the primary token for the gaming ecosystem.
Commenting on the partnership, Marc Saurina, senior director of global commercial partnerships at Dorna Sports, welcomed Animoca as the title sponsor for MotoGP Grand Prix events. Moreover, he felt proud to provide sponsorship and inclusion into the REVV Motorsport ecosystem.
Crypto Companies’ Unique Relation with Sports
The crypto hype has caused many sports associations and teams to accept crypto companies as sponsors and partners. Last year, crypto exchange FTX has acquired naming rights for the Miami Heat basketball stadium for 19 years, now called FTX Arena. Also, FTX has purchased naming rights for California Memorial Stadium – home of the California Golden Bears.
This year, Crypto.com has become an official sponsor of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and blockchain company Algorand has become a sponsor and technical partner of FIFA.
