In a bid to boost optimism and cement foothold within the AI sector, AMD, the chip-making firm, has recently revealed a stockpile of AI chips at Computex 2024, a technology expo in Taipei. Further intensifying the firm’s rivalry with prominencies like Nvidia, the firm has advanced with a plethora of partnerships with entities like Asus, HP, and Lenovo, as revealed in the tech event. AMD Unveils New Chips Supporting AI Development
During the Computex 2024 tech event, Lisa Su, CEO of AMD (Advanced Micro Devices), introduced a range of new chips that promise to revolutionize user experiences. The 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen AI Strix chip, in particular, stood out as the firm’s AI processor chip for Copilots and PCs. Additionally, the firm unveiled AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 NPUs (Neural Processing Unit), setting a new benchmark in AI chip-making.
Meanwhile, Lisa Su stated that in addition to Microsoft, the company is working with leading developers like Adobe, Grammarly, GoPro, Nero, and Sony, among many others, to accelerate the adoption of AI-enabled PC apps. Regarding this, AMD has also partnered with HP, Lenovo, and Asus, offering its newest chips in the latest OmniBook, Yoga, and a series of Asus models.
Other chips, such as AMD Ryzen 9000 Series, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X, and Socket AM5, were also unveiled at the tech event. In the interim, the firm also offered a glimpse of its upcoming 5th Gen AMD EPYC Turin processor at the tech conference, sending tongues wagging across the AI industry.
